Screen shot of icesefie program on ice tv

There seems to be some  undercurrents of issues ensuing between IceTV and GHone TV over a “iceselfie” concept introduced late last year by a satellite Television station called Ice TV.
According to the manager of Ice TV, Samuel Owusu Asare, Ghone TV has been preempting its content by illegally imitating a concept he introduced. Mr. Owusu Asare has questioned why a TV station like Ghone, with intelligent staffs will steal their content.
He has however called on the managers of Ghone to put their staffs to use to enable them think through and give the station good program content instead of stealing another station’s concept.
“This action comes on the heels of several complaints filed by our viewers that another TV station was illegally pirating what we have exclusive rights to” he said.
The ‘ICE Selfie’ is a concept which gives viewers of the station an opportunity to send a whatsapp video request to MTN number 0546379248 for any song of their choice. The whatsapp video request is then played on TV including the song you requested for. The program was first introduce by Ice TV few days into it’s transmission”.
A news publication link below testifies to the claim by management of ICE TV.
The concept attracted a lot of viewers who every second, sent their videos requesting for their favourite music to be played. ICE TV is the only TV station in Ghana that has developed such a concept. It is however surprising that Ghone TV will nicodemously steal the program which is attracting more viewers for Ice TV.
We will keep you updated about how this tango will end.
