Saved by grace, is the testimony of a prison officer who has been acquitted and discharged after he was indicted in an attempted prison break at the kumasi central prisons in the Ashanti regional capital of Ghana.
The prison officer who gave a testimony at Kenyasi Bosore branch of International God’s Way Church told the congregation led by Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim that he was facing either a dismissal from the service or imprisonment after he was charged with negligence and improper handing over on the night the inmates of the prison attempted to flee the walls of the prison.
It could be recalled that few months ago one prisoner on remand was shot dead when inmates at the Kumasi central prisons set fire in the prison following a riot which they attempted to escape from the prison. The incident attracted a lot of attention by both citizens and the government in a bid to find the course and a solution to the attempted break.
Ghana’s interior minister set up a committee to investigate the incident. The prison officers on duty on the day of the incident were alleged to have acted unprofessional which led to an investigation into their conduct.
The prison officer whose identity can not be disclose for some reasons said he went to Bishop Obinim during an emergency counselling and told him what has happened. He added Bishop Obinim who is referred to as the Angel of God, told him God will help him to come out of the investigation clean.
He said few days after the counselling Bishop Obinim appeared to him in a dream and told him that God will intervene in his issue.
The prison officer said after appearing before a number of committees that were set to investigate the issue he has been acquitted and discharged of all charges. He told the congregation during testimony time on Sunday 19th June 2016 that, God through Bishop Obinim intervened on his behalf hence he being acquitted and discharged of all charges.
